The Ministry of Electricity in the east-based parallel government has signed a memorandum of understanding with the American company Starz Energies to establish a factory to produce batteries and energy storage systems.
In a Facebook statement, the ministry explained that the memorandum aims to create a comprehensive factory dedicated to producing batteries and energy storage systems, indicating that the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to enhance sustainability and increase reliance on renewable energy sources in the country.
The signing ceremony took place at the ministry's headquarters, with the Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy in the parallel government, Awad Al-Badri, emphasizing the project's importance in supporting the state's energy strategy and boosting its capabilities in energy storage.
Al-Badri emphasized that the planned factory will provide advanced energy storage solutions, thereby enhancing the stability of the national electricity grid and reducing dependence on traditional energy sources.
Meanwhile, the CEO of Starz Energies reaffirmed the company's commitment to bringing modern technology and global expertise to the local market, which will help achieve the country's ambitious goals in sustainable energy.
According to the ministry, work on establishing the factory is expected to begin in the near future, with a focus on adhering to the highest global standards in production and quality.
