The Deputy Head of the Presidential Council, Mossa Al-Koni, discussed on Sunday in the Rwandan capital with Egyptian Foreign Minister, Badr Abdelatty, the developments in the situation in Libya.

In a statement, the official spokesman for the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Ahmed Abu Zeid, said that Minister had stressed the need to continue efforts to enhance the settlement process and preserve Libyan ownership, stressing Egypt's position in support of the Libyan-Libyan solution.

Abdelatty indicated Cairo's continued support for the role of Libyan institutions with the aim of reaching an understanding regarding holding presidential and parliamentary elections simultaneously as soon as possible under the supervision of a unified government.

The spokesman for the Egyptian Foreign Ministry added that the meeting also addressed the need to continue efforts to dissolve armed factions, and the exit of all foreign forces, mercenaries and fighters from Libya within a specific time frame in implementation of relevant international resolutions.
