Ethiopia's Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali has called on Libyans to be strong and united to achieve peace in their country, expressing concern over the ramification of the offensive on Tripoli.

This came in a meeting with the Head of the High Council of State (HCS) Khalid Al-Mishri on Friday in Addis Ababa.

The Ethiopian PM stressed that his country supports stability in Libya via the work of regional and international organizations.

Abiy Ahmed Ali won The Nobel Peace Prize 2019 for his efforts to regain relations with Eritrea in July 2018 after years of enmity and border conflicts from 1998 to 2000.

Al-Mishri congratulated Abiy Ahmed Ali on winning the Nobel Prize and hailed his achievements.

Meanwhile, Al-Mishri discussed with the deputy foreign minister of Ethiopia bilateral relations, developments of the attack on Tripoli and reiterated the importance of African Union's role in resolving the Libyan crisis.
