Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity reported holding a meeting to discuss the efforts of lenders to collect loans due to the Libyan state.
A joint meeting was held at the Ministry's headquarters, and it included the Director of the International Cooperation Department, the Director of the Financial Institutions and Technical Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Finance, the Director and Deputy Director of the International Finance Department at the Libyan Foreign Bank, the Head of the Contributions and Loans Department at the Central Bank of Libya, and a number of specialists.
The Foreign Ministry said that the efforts of lenders resulted in collecting part of the due loans, pointing to the role of the International Cooperation Department in organizing financial and diplomatic relations between Libya and the borrowing countries, with the aim of coordinating efforts to ensure the effective implementation and follow-up of financial agreements, and achieving maximum benefit from them.
According to the Ministry, a unified mechanism was discussed to collect the remaining Libyan loans and funds abroad, and to find solutions that achieve the common interest and maintain positive relations with the concerned countries.
