‎The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity, Taher Al-Baour, arrived at Carthage International Airport on Monday on an official working visit to Tunisia, as part of a high-level government delegation that included Minister of Transport Mohamed Al-Shahoubi and a number of government officials.

The media office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Al-Baour held a meeting with the Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs and a number of officials.

The Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on its official Facebook page that the meeting discussed ways to enhance the strategic partnership between Libya and Tunisia, with a focus on activating previous agreements, adopting new mechanisms to support economic integration, and facilitating the cross-border movement of individuals and goods.

The ministry added that the two sides addressed aspects of cooperation in security fields, particularly combating organized crime and illegal migration, in addition to enhancing joint consular services and coordinating efforts to address shared challenges. They also finalized arrangements for convening the Joint High Committee between the two countries during the upcoming March.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties emphasized the importance of this visit in achieving tangible progress on shared priorities and the necessity of continued coordination on regional and international issues, particularly within the frameworks of the Arab League and the African Union Commission, to serve the interests of the two brotherly nations and promote stability in the region.
