The French Ambassador to Libya, Mustafa Mihraje, has affirmed his country's continued support for Libya's High National Elections Commission (HNEC) to carry out free and transparent elections.
Mihraje’s remarks came at a meeting with the HNEC head Emad Al-Sayeh, as tweeted by the French ambassador.
"Constructive exchanges with Emad Al-Sayeh, president of the High National Authority on ballot preparations," Mihraje tweeted on Monday.
On December 16, the French ambassador affirmed his country's commitment to supporting the elections in Libya to preserve its unity, stability, and sovereignty.
The ambassador noted that his country signed an agreement with the United Nations Development Program in Libya to support the High National Elections Commission to prepare for free and fair elections and to prevent electoral fraud.
