The Fuel Cooperation Commission halted fuel supply to south Libya starting last Saturday in demand of three conditions for the resumption.

Fuel trucks' drivers had been attacked by "outlaw gunmen" on Brak Al-Shatti road, according to the commission, which added that the drivers were horrified and intimidated by gunshots and no accompanying security units had intervened.

The commission asked for security arrangements like waiting and accommodation places, security assistance from Shuwairif to Sabha stock under a security apparatus, communication between officials and its board as well as Misrata municipality to reconcile with the drivers and for the Deputy Prime Minister to take up his responsibility toward the lives and rights of the fuel trucks' drivers, as he is appointed to follow up on the south region issues.

Fuel supplies to south Libya were resumed recently after two years of halt due to the lack of security. Misrata stock was the supply line to south Libya after many promises of security and protection for the drivers.
