The so called "The Preparatory Forum for National Forces" was held Saturday at Tibesti Hotel in Benghazi with the participation of senior Gaddafi regime figures, under the slogan "to save the homeland from terrorism, chaos and foreign intervention."

The forum was organized by "the Libyan National People's Movement," which was established and led by senior officials of Gaddafi's regime.

Sources from the eastern city said the participants rejected to raise the Libyan flag, saying “we do not recognize it.”

The meeting was coordinated with aides of warlord Khalifa Haftar, the sources added.

The conference is the first of its kind to be held by Gaddafi supporters on Libyan territory since the revolution of February 17, 2011.

Several Gaddafi aides and supporters, including those charged with committing crimes and killing during the February 17 revolution, have returned to east Libya after the fall of Benghazi in the hands of Dignity Operation.
