The Maltese ambassador to Libya, Charles Saliba, has conducted a visit to the Tripoli Naval Base, during which he met with the Acting Chief of Staff of the Libyan Navy in the presence of several officers.

“The meeting discussed the Libyan-Maltese cooperation and the procedures for handing over the marine vessel "Al-Kifah" (Strife) to the Maltese authorities to undergo repair work at the "International Mellitah" repair yard in Malta”, the spokesman of the General Staff of the Libyan Navy said.

Meanwhile, the Maltese ambassador confirmed to The Libya Observer that he had a "very constructive" meeting with the commander of the Libyan navy and coast guard.

"I commend the good work by the LCG to save lives," the ambassador said, and in this context, he highlighted Malta's support for the Libyan Coast Guard by accepting patrol boats for repair and maintenance, noting that his government will also provide exclusive training in the coming weeks.
