The German Special Envoy to Libya, Christian Buck, has confirmed that his country is seeking with its regional partners to achieve stability in the country and enhance security, in preparation for the holding of presidential and parliamentary elections.

This came during his meeting with the head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, and the two members, Abdullah Al-Lafi and Musa Al-Koni, in the presence of the German ambassador to Libya, Michael Ohnmacht.

The meeting dealt with the latest developments in the political, economic and security situation in Libya, the project of national reconciliation, getting out of the political stalemate and reaching the elections as soon as possible, according to the Presidential Council media office.

Menfi praised Germany’s positive role towards Libya, especially through its efforts in the Berlin conferences, to find a solution to the Libyan crisis and reach a consensus that paves the way for stability in the country.
