GNC denounces offending Libya’s Mufti, rejects EU sanctions on Abu Sahmain
The General National Congress has condemned the verbal abuse against Libya’s Mufti, Sheikh Al-Sadiq Al-Gharyani, and underlined that it totally rejects the sanctions imposed on the GNC President, and the Prime Minister of the Salvation Government, considering them a clear bias to one party against the other and a reason to crack the well-knitted Libyan social fabric.
In a statement issued Saturday evening, the GNC denounced the offending phrases said by pro-Sirraj demonstrators against Libya’s Mufti, Al-Gharyani, calling those offenders as outlaws and ill-mannered, saying that Mufti Al-Gharyani is an icon for Libya and February revolution.
On Friday, a number of demonstrators, who went out at Martyrs Square in Tripoli to speak out their support for Sirraj government, said some offending phrases and slogans against Libya’s Mufti, Al-Sadiq Al-Gharyani.
