Any interference in the internal affairs of Libya would constitute a violation of Libya's sovereignty, a statement by the General National Congress warned Monday.

Reacting to the emergency meeting of the Arab League on Libya, the GNC said any attempt to fight terrorism inside Libya without the approval of the GNC and the Salvation Government would disrupt the political scene and hinder the UNSMIL-brokered dialogue.

The Arab League is due to hold an extraordinary meeting Tuesday to discuss a request by Tobruk parliament for Arab countries to carry out airstrikes against Daesh/IS group in Sirte.

The GNC statement also vowed to fight terrorism and illegal immigration, in addition to fighting the criminal acts of Daesh in Derna and Sirte.
