The Government of National Unity (GNU) has held talks with French officials aimed at enhancing bilateral security collaboration.
On Monday, Mahmoud Saeed, Undersecretary for Public Affairs at Libya’s Ministry of Interior, met with Eric Derbois, Internal Security Attaché at the French Embassy, to discuss joint efforts in tackling key security issues.
According to a statement from the Ministry, discussions included combating illegal migration, antiquities and drug smuggling, cybercrime, VIP protection, and strengthening judicial investigations through specialized training for Libyan police forces.
The two sides also agreed on the importance of continued coordination, with plans for regular meetings to monitor mutual security challenges.
Earlier in the day, France's ambassador to Libya, Mostafa Mihraje, visited the headquarters of the National Safety Authority in Tripoli, where he delivered modern civil protection equipment. The donation is intended to support rescue training operations across the country.
