Libya's Grand Mufti, Sheikh Sadiq Al-Ghariani, has accused Moroccan intelligence of working against Libya's interests in collaboration with dissident groups.
Speaking on his program "Islam and Life" on Al-Tanasuh TV, Sheikh Al-Ghariani said Moroccan intelligence has fostered divisions in Libya since the Skhirat Agreement, indicating that Morocco hosts individuals not representing Libyan legitimacy to form a new transitional government.
The Mufti also criticized a faction of the High Council of State meeting in Morocco, describing their actions as deceitful and accusing them of cooperating with foreign intelligence agencies.
The meeting, which included representatives from Libya's Parliament and members of the High Council of State, convened in Bouznika, Morocco. Participants reportedly agreed to form a unified government and establish committees to address disputes in security, finance, and economic matters.
High Council of State President Mohamed Takala rejected the meeting, stating that the participants did not officially represent the council.
