Libya’s Grand Mufti, Sheikh Sadiq Al-Gharyani, urged the General National Congress and the Salvation Government to announce a countrywide mobilization of forces to fight extremism and IS militias, telling the citizens to support their fellow citizens in fighting the oppressors.

Speaking on Tanasuh TV Wednesday, Mufti Al-Gharyani said the fight against Khalifa Haftar and IS militants is one and the same even if its front lines varied.

“The battle is the same even if the fight axes varied in number and place, they are creating new hideouts for themselves, one in Benghazi, another in Sabratha, sometimes in Derna, then they go to the south and spill to Al-Kufra, which proves how desperate they are.” The Mufti explained.

He added that those terrorists were revealed as we saw them in Derna kidnapping people for ransom, yet the fight against them in that city is still ongoing, and only when they got pushed out of the city, the people of Derna started leading a normal life and knew that their city is better off without them.

“IS militants are “the oppressing tyrants” as they always enchant slogans of wrongfulness, corruption, and assault, and then use Islam as means to their filthy ends.” The Mufti elaborated, concluding by speaking out his disappointment with the bias of the international community toward those who gasp for bringing back the regime of Gaddafi to the country, saying it is unacceptable.
