Guinea-Bissau’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has refuted any connection to Amadou Lamine Sano, who falsely claimed to be a special advisor to the President of Guinea-Bissau and engaged with Libyan authorities.

In an official statement, the ministry clarified that Sano has no official role within the Guinean government, is not a presidential advisor, and was not authorized to deliver any messages on behalf of the government.

The ministry urged Libyan authorities to take appropriate action should similar incidents occur in the future.

Earlier this month, Libya’s parallel government reported hosting Sano at its Foreign Ministry headquarters in Benghazi. The Foreign Ministry of the parallel administration described him as Minister of State, Special Advisor to the President of Guinea-Bissau, and Ambassador Extraordinary.

During his visit, discussions reportedly focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation and addressing regional and international issues. Sano also met with the Second Deputy Speaker of Libya’s House of Representatives, Misbah Douma, conveying alleged greetings from Guinea-Bissau’s President and discussing mutual collaboration.
