Two guards were killed and others were injured in heavy clashes that broke out in Tripoli on Saturday between the First Security Squad and the National Mobile Force.

Members of the National Mobile Force were protecting the member of the UN-imposed Presidency Council Ahmed Mitig's house in Hai Al-Andlous when fighters from the First Security Squad, an affiliate of Haitem Tajouri's Tripoli Revolutionary Brigade, attacked them, leaving two guards dead.

There are conflicting reports about the reason of the clashes. Tripoli Revolutionary Brigade claimed that the National Mobile Force seized military vehicles and ammunition of the First Security Squad and they used force to retake them. There were no comments from the National Mobile Force.

Other guards from the National Mobile Force were also arrested but were released few hours later following mediation.

It is not known if Ahmed Mitig and his family were inside the house when the clashes erupted.
