After three days of departing Cairo, Khalifa Haftar, the leader of the Dignity Operation forces in eastern Libya, received Wednesday the Egyptian Chief of Staff, Mahmoud Hegazy, in Rajma district.

There were no further details about the aim of the meeting between Haftar and Hegazy.

On last Saturday, Haftar was in a meeting with the Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, in Cairo.

Both discussed the latest developments on the Libyan political scene, with Al-Sisi reiterating a call for lifting the embargo on arming what he called "the Libyan national army" led by Haftar.

Egypt is Haftar's sidekick in his alleged war on terrorists in Benghazi and other eastern cities, providing his forces with several kinds of assistance and support throughout the three years since the kickoff of Dignity Operation in May 2014.
