Gunmen loyal to Khalifa Haftar's forces assaulted medical staff inside the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Al-Jalaa Hospital in Benghazi and opened fire inside the ICU, leading to damage of the medical devices.

According to sources from the hospital, the gunmen entered the ICU after they were informed that their friend, who was under operation after being injured in a fight, had died.

The gunmen attack damaged seven mechanical ventilators and seven monitors as well as other devices such as ultrasound equipment, in addition to horrifying the medical personnel, knowing that some of them had been beaten and kicked out at gunpoint.

Since Haftar's control on the city, Benghazi has been seeing regular attacks on public state institutions, kidnaps and murders of civilians.
