Forces loyal to warlord Khalifa Haftar have opened fire on civilian protesters in Al-Marj as they were calling for better living conditions near the town's security directorate, thus injuring some men who then have been sent to hospital, sources told Libya Al-Ahrar TV.

Footage on social media showed protesters trying to run and evade live bullets as witnesses confirmed that at least five people were injured on Saturday.

The sources from Al-Marj, which is loyal to Haftar, said tensions in the town were still high and expected more protests to take place as an outrage about bad living conditions.

Protesters also took to street in Benghazi Saturday and assaulted and set fire to the headquarters of Al-Thinni Government as well as vandalized Benghazi Municipality.

For over three days, Benghazi and Bayda cities as well as other areas have been seeing protests for better living conditions amid lack of cash at the banks, ourages of electricity and other services.
