The Head of the Libyan High Council of State (HCS) Khalid Al-Mishri has confirmed that the HCS is working on facilitating the political initiatives as per the Libyan Political Agreement and will not negotiate with parties that are advocating "aggression" and imposing their vision by force.

Al-Mishri's remarks came in a meeting with the UN envoy to Libya Ghassan Salame on Tuesday in Tripoli, where they discussed the latest developments of the military escalation in Tripoli.

"We are very upset about the stance of some countries that claim to support the GNA's legitimacy and continue to back up war criminal Khalifa Haftar in his attacks on civilians and airports in Tripoli." Al-Mishri explained.

Salame and Al-Mishri discussed the possible return to the political process led by the UN and the halt of fighting in the capital, according to the UNSMIL.

They discussed the efforts of the UNSMIL in handling humanitarian issues caused by the offensive against Tripoli.
