The Head of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, has invited the Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, to visit Libya as soon as possible, reiterating the need for Egyptian firms to return to work in the country to help in reconstruction projects, energy and national reconciliation.

The remarks came in a meeting for Menfi with the Chief of Egyptian Intelligence, Abbas Kamel, in Tripoli on Thursday, when the two discussed activating the joint technical committee and boost cooperation in all fields.

Menfi's media office said Abbas Kamel passed Al-Sisi's greetings to the Libyan people and the Presidential Council.

Kamel arrived in Tripoli Thursday morning and met with the Prime Minister Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah, discussing the latest developments and activating the joint committee, in addition to coordinating for a visit to Egypt by Dbeibah. After the meeting, Kamel toured the Tripoli Martyrs Square and Old City alleys, before leaving to Benghazi to meet Khalifa Haftar ahead of a return to Egypt.
