The Minister of Health Ali Al-Zanati, on Wednesday, received a French medical team as part of a program to ease the way for domestic medical tourism.

Al-Zanati said that by promoting domestic medical treatment, the health sector could save time, money, and efforts, while medical personnel would benefit from the expertise of their counterparts visiting Libya.

During the meeting, the minister also gave the green light to initiate a contract to localize treatment in the homeland.

For their part, the French delegation emphasized their readiness to start working as an integrated medical team within Libyan hospitals and train medical personnel in several specialties.

The French medical team had previously performed many surgeries at the Benghazi Medical Hospital for orthopedics, brain and nerve surgery, cardiovascular surgery, tumor surgery, pediatric surgery, among other delicate surgeries.
