The High Council of State (HCS) announced that 112 members had approved the agreement with the House of Representatives (HoR) to appoint a new management for the Central Bank of Libya (CBL).

Mohammed Takala confirmed the approval of the HCS-HoR agreement regarding the appointment of a governor of the CBL and a deputy after the endorsement of more than 100 members for this agreement, stressing the need to open oil facilities and keep them away from political conflicts, given their decisive role in the national economy and securing the needs of people.

He stressed the importance of adhering to the provisions of the agreement, and completing the assignment of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank within the specified deadlines by the agreement.

Meanwhile, the media office of the HCS published a letter referred by Khalid Al-Mishri to the acting head of the UN Support Mission in Libya, Stephanie Koury, which included a list of the names of those who approved the appointment of new CBL governor.

"We are forwarding to you, through the representative of the Council, Abdul Jalil Al-Shawish, a list of the names of the members of the High Council of State who approved the mission's proposal, numbering 112 members." The letter says.

Earlier on Monday, the members of the HoR voted unanimously to approve the agreement, which stipulated the appointment of Naji Issa as the new governor of the CBL, and Marie Al-Barassi as his deputy.
