The Chairman of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC), Imad Al-Sayeh, has received the Special Envoy of the German Government, Christian Buck, and his accompanying delegation, at the HNEC headquarters in Tripoli.
During the meeting, Buck expressed his government’s appreciation for the efforts made by the HNEC to make the first group municipal council elections 2024 a success, in accordance with the highest standards in force in the world.
He reiterated his country readiness to provide technical and advisory support, which enhances the HNEC readiness to implement the expected entitlements, according to a statement by the HNEC on its Facebook page.
This visit comes within the framework of the international community’s support for the democratic path in Libya, and to review the level of readiness of the HNEC to implement the second group municipal council elections in 2025.
