The High National Elections Commission (HNEC) announced that it was following up on what had been circulated on social media regarding the publishing of some results of the municipal council elections (the first group), for which the voting process was held on November 16.
HNEC noted that it didn't issue these results and no decision, saying that these results were merely expectations subject to change. It called on “stakeholders, voters and candidates, not to trust any results until they are issued by an official decision from the HNEC's Board.”
HNEC confirmed the start of the process of scanning and entering data for municipal election results' forms at the counting and statistics center on Sunday morning, coinciding with the arrival of the first groups of ballot boxes.
"These procedures come within the framework of the High National Elections Commission’s efforts to announce the preliminary results of the electoral process as soon as possible.”
On Saturday, the HNEC explained that the percentage of participants in the elections, which took place in 58 municipalities, reached 74%.
