Emad Al-Sayeh, Chairman of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC), provided Vice President of the Presidential Council (PC) Abdullah Al-Lafi with an update on the commission's preparedness to administer municipal elections during a meeting on Sunday.

The HNEC has commenced preliminary preparations for the upcoming election of 60 municipal councils.

As reported by the PC media office, Al-Sayeh apprised Al-Lafi of the commission's preparedness to execute the municipal council elections while also highlighting the practical and technical difficulties and challenges encountered.

He also commended the PC's endeavours in supporting the political process leading to the elections.

In response, Al-Lafi conveyed his gratitude for the HNEC's ongoing efforts in facilitating the completion of the municipal council elections. He affirmed the PC's support, emphasizing that it enhances the commission's preparedness and fosters a conducive environment for fulfilling the forthcoming responsibilities.
