The House of Representatives (HoR) voted unanimously on Monday to adopt the agreement to settle the Central Bank of Libya's (CBL) crisis following negotiations with the High Council of State under the auspices of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL).

The HoR held a session in Benghazi headed by the Speaker Aqila Saleh, with the participation of 108 members. After the crisis settlement agreement, which stipulated the appointment of banker Naji Issa as governor of the CBL, and Marie Al-Barasi as his deputy, was put to a vote, Saleh explained in a speech that the vote took place with a valid legal quorum for the session, as 108 members participated out of a total of 158.

Saleh said that the High Council of State voted to approve the crisis settlement agreement, by collecting signatures, explaining that 112 members of the High Council of State signed in approval.

Last Thursday, representatives of the HoR, Al-Hadi Al-Saghir, and the High Council of State, Abdul Jalil Al-Shawish, signed a final agreement to resolve the crisis of the CBL at the headquarters of UNSMIL, in the presence of the Deputy Head of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, a number of members of the HoR and the High Council of State, as well as ambassadors of Arab and foreign countries to Libya.
