The House of Representatives (HoR) foreign affairs committee has strongly rejected media claims suggesting that Palestinians from Gaza could be relocated to Libya, calling the reports “unacceptable allegations.”
In an official statement, the committee dismissed these claims as baseless, describing them as part of ongoing Israeli efforts to forcibly displace Palestinians—an act it says constitutes a war crime under international law.
Reaffirming Libya’s position, the committee stated that the country would not be part of any plan to resettle Palestinians or undermine their right to return. It also warned against attempts to drag Libya into projects that could threaten Palestinian national rights or the unity of the Arab and Islamic world.
The statement called on international bodies, including the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, to take a firm stance against “suspicious schemes” aimed at emptying occupied Palestinian territories.
It also urged the international community to act immediately to stop Israeli policies of displacement and lift the blockade on Gaza. Libya, will not be pressured into participating in any forced relocation efforts, regardless of external circumstances, the committee asserted.
