The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Fawzi Al-Nuwairi, discussed with the Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy in Libya, Jeremy Berndt, the latest developments in the political crisis in Libya. The meeting took place at the House of Representatives' headquarters in Benghazi on Monday.
According to the spokesman for the House of Representatives, Abdullah Blehiq, the meeting discussed the latest developments in the political crisis in Libya and pushing for holding presidential and parliamentary elections as soon as possible, in addition to reaching a solution to the Libyan crisis through Libyan-Libyan efforts and leadership.
According to Blehiq, the meeting also addressed the need to provide assistance and support by the UN mission to limit foreign interference in the Libyan crisis, and to support Libyan-Libyan solutions and agreements, including what recently culminated in the agreement between the House of Representatives and the High Council of State regarding the selection of the Governor and Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Libya.
