The Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Fawzi Al-Nuwairi, has called on the Presidential Council (PC) to inform the countries involved in the Libyan file of the need to coordinate with the PC before issuing any statements on Libya by their accredited embassies.

In a letter addressed to the PC head, Al-Nuwairi said the representatives of the foreign states in Libya need to abide by the legislation in force concerning their movements within the country.

Al-Nuwairi emphasized that the Parliament condemns all kinds of foreign interference and called on governmental bodies to fully coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, saying it is the only channel for communication with external parties.

He further stressed the need for accredited ambassadors to abide by the legislation in force with regard to their movements inside the country and in a manner that does not contradict diplomatic norms and without prejudice to internal affairs.
