The National Reconciliation Forum, organized by the Justice and National Reconciliation Committee of the House of Representatives (HoR), kicked off in Benghazi on Sunday evening.
According to the spokesman for the Council, Abdullah Blehiq, dignitaries from all Libyan cities and regions are participating in the forum, which is held under the title "Reconciliation is a Historical Social Responsibility."
The HoR previously held a workshop on national reconciliation at its headquarters on Saturday under the slogan "For Restorative Justice and Social Peace."
The forum was attended by the Second Deputy Speaker of the Council, Misbah Douma, the Chairman of the Justice and National Reconciliation Committee, Mawloud Al-Aswad, and a number of members of the HoR as well as officials from the parallel government, with the participation of a number of experts, professors and academics from various Libyan universities.
The workshop was organized by the Justice and National Reconciliation Committee, and included several topic points, such as the proposed law between judicial and arbitration procedures, an overview of the draft law on transitional justice and reconciliation, and evaluating the proposed mechanisms for redress.
