The Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives (HoR) Aqila Saleh reiterated Qatar's keenness on Libya's stability and the fulfillment of Libyan people's aspirations for peace.

In an interview with Qatar News Agency, Aqila Saleh said that Doha is keen to settle differences in Libya by peaceful means, adding that the Qatari leadership is open to all Libyans, and that it is keen for Libya to return once again to a secure and stable state.

 Saleh added that he had briefed the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on the latest developments in Libya, in addition to the HoR view on the current crisis and the efforts to resolve the crisis peacefully.

The HoR Speaker also described his visit to Doha as a success, considering that the meetings in Doha were historic, and that they pledged to exert all possible efforts to resolve the Libyan crisis.

In the same context, Libyan parliamentary sources revealed to the Russian newspaper Sputnik that Parliament Speaker Aqila Saleh asked Qatar to lift international support for the Dabaiba government, in order to enable the parallel government headed by Fathi Pashaga and go towards elections, as he put it.

According to HoR sources, Saleh discussed with the Emir of Qatar all aspects of the Libyan status quo, during which he tried to refute the aspects of the illegality of Fathi Bashagha's government, according to Sputnik.

Saleh also stressed, in his meeting with the Emir of Qatar, that going towards what he described as stability and elections requires Arab and international support by lifting support for the Dbiebah government, which he described as expired.
