HoR suspends Libya 2021 budget session again
The House of Representatives (HoR) suspended Monday the session of approving 2021 budget in the presence of Prime Minister Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah, saying it would be resumed Tuesday, according to first deputy speaker Fawzi Al-Nuwairi.
The session saw a lot of criticism directed to Dbeibah regarding second and third chapters of the expenditure item of the budget, Foreign Minister' performance, General Electricity Company's work, and COVID-19 response.
Pro-Haftar members said the issue regarding the Government of National Unity performance is that Dbeibah didn't meet with Haftar, saying if this was done and they agreed on naming a Defense Minister and allocating a budget for Haftar's General Command, the budget bill will be passed.
Meanwhile, Dbeibah presented to the HoR a briefing on the issues he had faced since assuming office.
This HoR session is the fifth one for budget approval deliberations since March 20.
