Navy Force spokesperson, Ayoub Kasim, said the Coast Guard and Special Naval Forces rescued Thursday morning 43 illegal immigrants and recovered four bodies after the inflatable boat they were on was set on fire.

Kasim told the Libyan News Agency (LANA) that the rescue team immediately headed to the accident location in northwestern Sabratha after receiving a report from the Rescue Operations Chamber, where they put off the fire.

On the other hand, the western Coast Guard branch thwarted an attempt of illegal immigration trip off Malita shore on Thursday morning.

Coast Guard members also foiled another attempt to immigrate to Europe by illegal immigrants off Zuwara shores last Tuesday and rescued 127 migrants of different nationalities.
