Victims for Human Rights has confirmed the death of a detainee at the Qirnada prison run by Khalifa Haftar's militias.

In a statement Friday, the organization said the deceased identified to be Ali Faraj Jibril Al-Dibani from the city if Derna had been held without charges.

Family members of the 37-year-old confirmed on social media his death in prison, while the reason for his loss was not disclosed.

Al-Dibani is not the first prisoner to die in the notorious Qirnada prison, which holds mainly opponents of Khalifa Haftar and his militias.

Last December, a former prisoner of conscience, Ahmed Gad Al-Shalawi, passed away shortly after his release from Grenada prison. Al-Shalawi had reportedly developed kidney failure, stroke, and loss of movement, as a result of torture during interrogation.
