The Ministry of State for Displaced Affairs and Human Rights organized during the past few days an interactive dialogue to discuss the rights of the displaced people and refugees with the participation of Minister of State for Displaced Affairs and Human Rights Ahmed Abu Khuzam, Minister of Social Affairs Wafaa Al-Kilani, and Minister of Justice Halima Abdul Rahman.

The event held at the Corinthia Hotel in Tripoli addressed key topics related to the rights of the displaced and refugees against the benchmarks of human rights law, international conventions, and national laws.

Abu Khuzam stressed the need for sustainable solutions to the problem of those displaced within and outside the country. To address the obstacles, we need the support of all the political and social actors, Abu Khuzam was quoted by his ministry as saying.

He considers national reconciliation as one of the main pillars of social justice and the state of law and institutions.

According to Abu Khuzam, the Ministry of State for Displaced Affairs has conducted several meetings with internal and external displaced persons to help them overcome the obstacles hindering their return to the homeland, confirming that their administrative and financial conditions have been looked into and settled.

For her part, Minister of Social Affairs, Wafaa Al-Kilani, emphasized that this file remains a top priority for her ministry. According to Al-Kilani, a special committee for the displaced people has been formed in Egypt to tackle this issue.
