The Ministry of Interior has launched a security campaign in the coastal areas to identify the encroached beach lands, warning it would take action against those who prove to have seized state-owned plots.

The ministry confirmed that its team in the Law Enforcement Administration of Tripoli began inspecting resorts in Garabulli, Castelverde, and Al-Quway'iyah, which are homes to some of the most popular beaches in Tripoli.

It confirmed that the security squad has already tracked down several violations and seized machines and equipment used to build holiday centres and facilities.

The ministry vowed to pursue all violations on public land and hunt those involved in such activities.

It also called on owners of resorts in the targeted areas to complete the required procedures and communicate with the Attorney General’s office to settle their status.
