Dozens of ISIS militants were killed on Wednesday in a massive offensive to eradicate remnants of the radical group from Sirte.

During the offensive, Misrata-led forces liberated Sirte University, Police Academy, and Al-Jiza military district. At least 20 ISIS militants were killed.

The media office of Al-Bunyan Al-Marsoos Operation said the forces are now advancing to retake ISIS stronghold of Ouagadougou Congress Halls, which would be a big blow to the radicals who have started to crumble.

Early, the media office reported that contact with a Libyan Air Force warplane has been lost. No more details were given, but local reports said the pilot, identified as Brig. Mukhtar Fakrun, is believed to have died in the L-39 aircraft crash over Sirte.
