The trial of ISIS militants accused of involvement in Tripoli bombings started on Monday, the Special Deterrence Force (SDF) has announced.

The SDF said the trial was held at the HQ of the Supreme Judicial Council under tight security measures.

No further details were given.

The militants were arrested after Corinthia Hotel attack. They are also charged with the murder of a number of police and army officers and masterminding attacks on security buildings in the capital.

In January 2015, ISIS gunmen assaulted Tripoli's luxury Corinthia Hotel, detonating a car bomb in the car park. At least nine people were killed including five foreigners.
