Italy's Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Vincenzo Amendola arrived in Tripoli on Sunday where he held talks with UN-proposed government and High Council of State officials.

Amendola met with Prime Minister of UN-proposed government Fayaz Sirraj, his first Deputy Ahmed Mitiq, Foreign Minister Mohammed Siyalah, Minister of Transport Milad Matouq, Minister of Local Governance Badad Gansu Masoud and the President of the High Council of State Abdul-Rahman Al-Swaihli.

The visit aimed at reactivating the bilateral partnership between the two Countries.

“A stable Libya is essential for the security of the Mediterranean and to combat human trafficking. This is why our Country is committed, both at multilateral and bilateral level, to reinforce Libya’s Institutions and security forces, tackle humanitarian emergencies over the whole territory and support the Country’s economic and social stability in this delicate transition phase.”Amendola said.
