The Italian Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi, has excluded any military operation in Libya.

Speaking to media in Rome yesterday, he pointed out that none of the countries is thinking of sending troops to maintain peace and democracy in Libya, reaffirming that it is not on the agenda at all.

Renzi, speaking about the political dialogue among Libyan parties and the efforts by the UNSMIL in that regard, added that peace in Libya could only be achieved by Libyan tribes, and any attempt to pass a resolution allowing soldiers or marines to be sent to Libya would be improper whatsoever.
