Libya's Attorney General, Al-Siddiq Al-Sour, will visit Italy next month, the Italian Nova news agency reported on Tuesday.

Nova said it had learned from Libyan diplomatic sources that Al-Sour is visiting Rome to discuss various issues with the law enforcement facilities, including the Public Prosecution at the Supreme Court of Cassation and the Anti-Mafia Directorate.

Mutual legal assistance and developments in the investigations regarding the combating of transnational organized crime will also be a focus of talks between the two sides.

Libya and Italy have held lengthy negotiations to reach an agreement on transferring convicted citizens from both countries to serve the remainder of their sentences in their respective countries of origin.

According to the same source, the Libyan side is calling for some amendments to the agreement to allow the deportation of four football players, one of whom is the son of a colonel in Haftar's militia force.

The four soccer players were identified by Nova as Alaa Faraj Al-Maghraby, from Al-Ahly Club Benghazi, Abdel-Rahman Abdel-Monsef, and Tariq Juma’a Al-Amami, from the Libyan Al-Tahadi Club, and Mohammed Al-Said from Tripoli.

All of them have been sentenced to prison since 2015 on charges of human trafficking and illegal immigration, according to Nova.
