The special envoy for the Italian Foreign Minister Nicola Orlando reiterated Italian support for the mediation efforts of the UN Advisor Stephanie Williams on the way of reaching an agreement acceptable to all political parties in Libya.
These remarks came in a meeting with the Libyan Foreign Minister, Najla Al-Mangoush, in Tripoli alongside the Italian ambassador to Libya, Giuseppe Botchini.
The Libyan Foreign Ministry said in a statement that they had discussed the latest political developments and efforts of the Ministry to boost stability in the country.
“Stability in Libya is essential to the stability of the Mediterranean region. We are keen on security and stability of Libya leading to parliamentary and presidential elections as per a correct constitutional basis.
