A delegation from the Jordanian Civil Aviation Regulatory Authority arrived in Tripoli's Mitiga Airport on a field visit on Saturday.
The Ministry of Transportation said that the visit aims to review the relevant equipment and procedures followed at the airport and the extent of their compliance with standard procedures, as well as to determine the procedures followed in the airport operation process and the extent of their compliance with internationally recognized requirements.
The Ministry explained that through this visit, the delegation will decide on the possibility of operating a direct air line between Libya and Jordan via Royal Jordanian Airlines.
It added that the Jordanian delegation held a meeting at the airport administration headquarters to discuss the operational procedures and security and safety measures followed at the airport.
This included a Libyan team from the Civil Aviation Authority and the Airports Authority corresponding to the Jordanian delegation, as well as a parallel meeting with the handling and ground services companies operating at Mitiga Airport.
