Libyan Minister of Justice Halima Ibrahim led the Libyan delegation at the 56th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.
During the session, the Council discussed the High Commissioner's report on technical support and capacity-building for Libya in human rights.
Minister Ibrahim reiterated Libya's commitment to human rights protection and its readiness to collaborate with international human rights mechanisms.
She highlighted improvements in Libya's human rights situation due to initiatives by the Government of National Unity, such as establishing the National Human Rights Committee and the International Humanitarian Law Committee.
The Minister also stressed the importance of the "Life Return" programs in enhancing citizens' access to health and education services, thus ensuring their economic and social rights, as she asserted Libya's right to respond to the report and rejected any content that could undermine Libyan sovereignty.
