Three journalists for Update: Kurdistan’s K24 reported that the three journalists were released on Saturday without giving any further details  have gone missing in Libya, the TV station announced on Saturday.

The TV channel said it lost contact on Saturday with reporter Ahmed Honer, photojournalists Ahmed Dilshad and Ali Blend who travelled to Libya to produce press material for the program (Reporter without Borders).

“They have travelled to Libya with the consent of the Libyan embassy in Baghdad.” It confirmed, without disclosing which airport the journalists landed.

The TV station added it has established contacts with the Libyan Embassy in Baghdad and the Iraqi Foreign Ministry to determine the fate of the journalists, indicating it is yet to be known for sure whether the journalists have been subjected to armed abduction or arrested by the official authorities.

There are concerns in the Libyan society about the attempts of Iraqi and Iranian Shiite clerics to spread the doctrine in the North African country.

On Thursday, the prominent Shiite cleric Yasir Al-Habib declared Libya as a prosperous land to spread Imamah (Shia doctrine), urging his followers to enhance efforts to teach Imamah to the Libyan people.
