The acting head of the Libyan Embassy in Cairo and Libya’s permanent representative to the Arab League, Ambassador Abdul-Mutalib Thabit, has discussed settling Libya’s contribution to the general budget of the Arab League with the League’s Assistant Secretary-General, Ambassador Mohamed Al-Ajiri.
This took place during their meeting, which addressed areas of cooperation between the two parties in matters related to administrative and financial affairs.
Libya is the third-largest contributor to the League’s budget, according to a statement from the Libyan Embassy in Cairo on its Facebook page on Wednesday.
The two sides also discussed the importance of finding a fair and serious settlement for the financial arrears owed by Libya, ensuring the regularity of its financial contributions and fulfilling all its obligations as an active member of the Arab League.
The officials emphasized the need to remove obstacles hindering the settlement process, in order to strengthen Libya’s role in supporting joint Arab action.
