Libya and Morocco are looking forward to reactivating airbridge operations in 2025 after a hiatus of about ten years, in addition to their desire to open a direct sea line linking the two sides' ports.

This came during a meeting held by Moroccan Minister of Transport and Logistics Abdel Samad Kayouh in Rabat with Minister of Transport in the Government of National Unity Mohammed Al-Shahoubi, on the sidelines of the 29th extraordinary session of the General Assembly of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization.

The two sides reaffirmed, according to a statement by the Moroccan Ministry of Transport, the common will to develop cooperation in areas related to the transport sector.

While Al-Shahoubi expressed Libya's desire to restore air links between the two countries in order to encourage and strengthen economic exchange between Morocco and Libya, and contribute to the development of bilateral cooperation in various fields, noting that the government intends to engage in any initiative to open a sea line between the two countries to encourage exchanges.

The Moroccan Minister of Transport reaffirmed his country's readiness to work to develop bilateral cooperation in the transport sector. In this context, the two parties agreed to intensify meetings of bilateral technical committees to discuss ways to enhance cooperation, in addition to exchanging experiences and expertise in the fields of transportation.

It is noteworthy that flights between Libya and Morocco have been suspended since February 2015 due to a decision by the Moroccan authorities at that time for security reasons, which also included a ban on Libyan aircraft crossing Morocco's airspace.
