The Ministry of Labor and Rehabilitation of the Government of National Unity announced on Monday the signing of a memorandum of understanding between its affiliated Center for Quality Assurance and Professional Calibration and the Egyptian National Council for Training and Education. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the 51st Arab Labor Conference held in Cairo.

According to a statement by the ministry, the MoU aims to strengthen cooperation in institutional and programmatic accreditation, improve training quality, and issue professional competency certificates in line with international standards, including the application of global ISO specifications in Libya’s vocational training sector.

The signing ceremony was attended by Minister of Labour and Rehabilitation Ali Al-Abed, Libya’s ambassador to the Arab League, the ministry’s secretary general, the president of the Egyptian Federation of Civil Associations, and the deputy head of the Egyptian National Council for Training and Education, Talaat Abdelqawi.

In his remarks during the ceremony, Minister Al-Abed said the agreement marks the beginning of a national plan toward international accreditation, praising Egypt’s experience as a successful model in quality and accreditation.

He described the agreement as a historic moment in the development of Libya’s vocational training sector, revealing that the center has already started implementing five international ISO standards as part of its accreditation project. Meanwhile, Talaat Abdelqawi expressed his satisfaction with the partnership, emphasizing the importance of Arab cooperation in human development and vocational training.
